Ken Rand, a friend of i-sci-fi/iscifi.tv, a mentor and a royal sarcastic author has lost hist battle with cancer. Ken will be in space any minute now with his awesome writing style, his attitude and that smile that makes you wonder what in the hell he is up to. I met Ken at Mountaincon III in 2007, I had heard and read some of his strange stories. I sat down with him for a good talk and learn that he knows what the hell he is talking about! I also had the chance to attend a few Ken-Con’s where locals from around Salt Lake city would sit in Barnes and Noble and talk about writing, about insulting our intelegaince or even just to bull shit. Ken is a man of many words, I can’t say I knew him that well, but I can say of what I did know I wish I would have been able to learn more and follow in his footsteps.
In the coming weeks I will try to find some of the candid recordings I did with Ken , including a few off the cuff talks at a Ken-Con
